Savannah is a luxury hotel barge able to accommodate up to 7 passengers in luxuriously fitted cabins with both inside salon and dining rooms and a large deck to enjoy throughout the cruising season. Initially built in 1938 as a cargo tanker specifically to the dimensions of the Royal Canal du Midi (30m x 5m) and navigating between Bordeaux and Sète, this barge was transformed into a luxurious showroom for the prestigious cosmetic group l’Occitane de Provence in the 80’. The mahogany woodwork and ceramic tiles date from this period and have naturally remained as the signature of this unique canal hotel barge. Savannah was completely refurbished and decorated with luxurious contemporary furniture in 2014.

Rennes-le -Château is a small village of 43 habitants on a hilltop, approximately 45kms south of Carcassonne. The village is known internationally, and receives tens of thousands of visitors per year, because of various conspiracy theories about an alleged buried treasure by the 19th-century priest Bérenger Saunière. Since then the mystery remains unsolved. How comes a simple priest on the countryside became very rich from one day to another. He became the protégé of the Pope. You will continue your visit by walking the old path on the countryside used by the priest and enter the heart of the mystery.

Montségur: it is famous for its fortification, the Château de Montségur , that was built in 1206 on the pog on the ruins of one of the last Cathar strongholds. It was a unique hiding place for the Cathars who have been persecuted for many years by the army of the Pope in the Midi region. The present fortress on the site, though described as one of the "Cathar Castles" is from a later period. It has been listed as a historic site by the French Ministry of Culture since 1862.

A full guided tour in Narbonne. Once a prosperous port and a major city in Roman times. Narbonne is linked to the nearby Canal du Midi and the Aude River by the Canal de la Robine, which runs through the center of town. Narbonne was established by the Romans in 118 BC, as Colonia Narbo Martius, colloquially Narbo. It was located on the Via Domotia, the first Roman road, connecting Italy to Spain. Visit of La place de l’Hôtel-de-Ville. This is the busy Centre of the town, dominated by the Archbishop’s Palace. On the square note the section of the Via Domitia. Visit of the Museum of Art and History: collections of pharmacy pots, ceramics and Flemish, Italian, French and Orientalist paintings... Visit of Les Halles of Narbonne. They are famous across all the south and count more than 70 stalls: bakers, pastries, butchers, caterers, bars and wine merchants… Visit of the Cathedral St Just and St Pasteur, the most prestigious building of the city. The construction is of gothic architecture. You will be overwhelmed by its beauty.

Come and visit the incredible medieval village of Minerve. The village is situated on top of the gorge of the River Cesse. It has a naturally strong defensive position. Near the village the river disappears underground in a large, naturally carved tunnel. During the Albigensian Crusade this village was a refuge for a group of Cathars. The village was besieged by Simon de Montfort during 6 weeks before surrendered. 140 Cathars refused to give up their faith and were being burned to death. The main bridge leading into the village is closed to all passenger vehicles not owned by residents of Minerve. Of all of the original fortifications, only the octagonal tower has survived. Minerve has been selected as one of the most beautiful villages of France, so not to be missed.

DAY 1 Arrival and installation in your bed and breakfast. Diner in a restaurant: aperitif, starter, main course, dessert with 2 glasses of wine. Return to your bed and breakfast for the night. DAY 2 After breakfast departure to the Corbières. Stop in a vineyard for wine tasting and visit of the cave. Departure to Narbonne, the old Romaine city, whit the Via Domitia as most important witness.Walk through town to discover the cathedral of St Just and St Pasteur and the Halls, beating heart of the town, along the canal. Departure to Peyriac-de-Mer to have lunch in a restaurant. To Gruissan, passing by the charming village of Bages.Discovery of the soils of l’île Saint-Martin.Return to Lézignan. Wine tasting of a selection of 6 wines.Dinner in a restaurant and return to your bed and breakfast for the night. DAY 3 After breakfast departure to the Corbières. Stop in a vineyard, wine tasting and visit of the cave. Discovery of a chai in Talairan with wine tasting. Departure to Lagrasse, discovery of the village and his abbey by foot. Lunch in a restaurant and visit of the museum 1900. Return to the vineyards of Chateau Vaugelas on the feet of the Alaric, planted there by the Benedictines in the 16th century.

Welcome to the Domaine MONASTREL in the Minervois. Brigitte and Vincent, our vine growers and oenologists, will present the Minervois to you, to understand its terroir, its soil, its climate and its grape. They will have prepared meticulously your equipment, so that you can experience a day in the life of a vine grower. As a real grape-picker, with your pair of secateurs, you will be guided by Vincent to harvest the grapes in the proper way. Technical information will be given to you and you will harvest the grapes and put them in crates, put them on a trailer for winemaking. Towards the winemaking cellar  Work isn’t finished! Return to the coolness of the cellar. You must empty the crates in the stemmer to get rid of the stalk. Details about the transit of the grape and its winemaking. With the oenologist of the Domaine, you will see and understand what happens when the wine is in the wine vat Tasting the juice of the harvested grape and/or juice in fermentation. People of the Domaine will welcome you to a meal: Apéritif 2 glasses of wine during the meal Starter Main dish Dessert Brigitte and Vincent will offer you a bottle of wine. After a busy day, it is time to leave with happy memories.

If you are a lover of refined wines, you will appreciate this initiation in an exceptional vineyard. You will be able to discover the world of wine in a way you never had imagined. You will be warmly welcomed in very beautiful chais and you will live an experience in the heart of the Aude region.
